2 racks leaked on me!!! ergh!!!

    ok well i just got my pressure line going and well it came off a 4 runner same motor 3.4L 4wd the line has a sensor but theres no plug in on my 96 tacoma so its just hanging the shop i got it from DH BUILT said it shouldnt matter...now soon after i change it i leak out of my passernger side boot on the steering rack...im thinking ok 233k miles im pretty sure its about to leak so i got another one at a local junk yard and wen i did the install it leaks too!!! the guy at the junk yard said it didnt have leak before they got it but it did have a few small rips on the inner tie rod boot...and wen i brought it home i noticed to outer tie rods were straigt insted of curved like my original one...my friend warned me and told me to get a new one...just my luck...i really love my tacoma any suggestions? could it be that pressure line? with the sensor? someone help please cause i dont wanna buy a new rack and it leaks...

    I think your problem is that you keep buying used parts. Where exactly is it leaking at? Your post kind of confuses me haha

    Then I'd try replacing the boot first. You may not be able to find just the boot so you may just have to replace the whole inner tie rod.

    correct me if im wrong but im pretty sure the boot is to keep dust away from the greased up inner tie rod...

    Okay, then replace the steering rack. It's more or less a trial and error thing when it comes to fixing issues with steering.

    Yeah all the boot does is keep out water/ dust/ debris. Sounds like you need a new rack thurrrrr man. Toyota racks are usually the way to go, rebuilds can be iffy and you know a toyota rack will last for 150k +
