2 Tacoma's for sale at Dodge dealer.

just thought it was weird, you almost never see Tacoma's for sale on a dealers lot, other then Toyota dealers, of course. The Dodge dealer by me has 2 Tacoma's. one is a 2010, one is a2013, weird, what's going on? Who trades a Tacoma in for a Dodge? Who trades in a 2013 model, already?

 

Sales ploy maybe? Lots of people cant think, so the bandwagon looks like a sure bet.
Or just a random coincident.

 

They wanted a dakota, duh.

 

Some people do weird things when it comes to vehicles.

 

Bought mine off a Chevy dealer.....3 hours away.

I think its worse that I see a Tacoma on a Nissan lot in town.

 

Maybe they were previous members of TW. Maybe they didn't like what we said, or the info we gave them so they traded down.

 

I bought mine at the local John Elway Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep dealership. First owner put 12K miles on it and then traded it in for a Tundra that the dealer had gotten as a trade-in for a Rubicon (so they say). I had started at a Toyota dealership, but they didn't have anything in my range, and I got a sick deal on mine with the factory warranty still in place so I didn't really question that it was at a non-Toyota dealer.

That being said, it wasn't exactly the shady "Nacho's Autos" lot I was buying from so I wasn't too nervous about why the dealership had a Taco.

some people are weird with new cars. There is a customer where i work that has a obsession with new cars less than two years old. he has like 8 brand new vehicles i dont get it at all.

 

I don't know, just thought it was weird, it's rare to see used Tacoma's for sale by me, most people keep them forever. Especially a 2013 with 12000 miles,I mean, you traded that in for a DODGE?!!?

 

Very few of the used cars on the lot are from trade-ins at that dealership.
Most are swapped from other dealerships under related ownership. Some are bought at auction, but normally the older or high-mileage trades immediately go to auction.
Dealerships (in larger market areas) don't tend to put trades on their own lot... some customers are creepy and will try to "help" sell it.

 

They wanted a truck with real rear springs or factory air bags....

It did really suck to do work on a new truck so that I could tow my ATV.
The dealer said the truck was over loaded, maybe 1800 to 2000 lb trailer and 240 - 270 TW. If you ask me, and several guys that have owned and driven Toy trucks for many years, they are no building a truck.
That from to coworkers that have 275K and 320K on older trucks.
And one with 500K that got one of the old Trucks what mid 80 and a 2004-6 truck.
He talks about the old one being a truck and the newer one a car with a bed....

 

There are a bunch of non-Toyota dealerships in my area where I've seen a Tacoma or two on their lot. 1st and 2nd gens too.

 

I bought my 2009 Taco with 27k miles in October 2011 from an Acura dealership... Who got it from auction after the original owner traded it in at a "Mini" dealership. Looked like the Mini dealership had it on their lot for a month before it went to auction.

 

That's some funny shit.

 

Bought mine from a dodge dealer. Lol. They had 3 on the lot.

 

I was in Charleston, sc when I found mine at a Jeep/Dodge dealer in NC.

 

Used car dept. may have purchased these trucks at auction.
