can you get maintenance done in the 2 year initial service plan performed at any Toyota service department or only the initial one this was set up at?

Any Toyota dealer nationwide will honor it.

I do it myself. Don't let dealer monkeys touch my truck, even if it's free

Would Toyota honor their warranty if something happened to your truck and they haven't done any maintenance on it? I've always done the maintenance for my cars, my I'm curious to know if Toyota would void the warranty.

Each of my cars and bike have a folder. I buy my recommended oil. I save the receipts . I use oem filter. I take a picture of the maintence done. Use to use Polaroids now use digital and print the pic out and store it.

    43 cars
    12 bikes

Never had any warranty work denied

Voiding warranty isn't that easy. Well maybe if you are a BRO

    :)

    Do your maintenance
    Keep strict records

The Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, which is enforced by the FTC, makes it illegal for manufacturers or dealers to claim that your warranty is void or to deny coverage under your warranty simply because someone other than the dealer did the work

Good to know, I've always done the maintenance myself, the only time in my 15 years of driving I let wrench monkeys touch my vehicle they managed to put gasoline engine oil in my diesel Jetta when I specifically told them it was a diesel! I'm so paranoid of "mechanics" touching my vehicles now.

I rather watch a Thailand hiv infested ladyboi touch my significant other than allow a GED completed, felon of an employee of a dealership touch my car

My first timing belt service I ever did in 1997. Took me 3 days (before you tube). I still insisted on doing it myself and learning it

Yes any Toyota dealership will honor the Toyota Care. Took my truck in for it's yearly oil change, (1st one) with no problems. You just cannot let these stories about bad service departments get in your head. You will be fine taking your truck in for service.

But this is the second time you take your tacoma in for maintenance right? If they don't change the oil on your first maintenance, what do they do?

I just got mine back from the 5k. They did an oil change and tire rotation. Needed to take the tires off a few days later. My impact wouldn't get the lugs off (18v electric) so I had to use a 3ft breaker bar to get them off. Normal ratchet or stock wrench wouldn't work. Last time I'm going to the dealer for service of any kind - unless it's a recall or something.

    Yes.

I could not see what they done. I just have to have faith that they checked things out that are on the list instead of just opening the hood and letting daylight hit my motor. I do know they topped off my windshield washer even after I told them not to. I had them check the torque on my U-bolts and if my U-joints had zerks to grease them. My truck does not though. I had scheduled for them to check my transmission fluid on that same day but I canceled that.

I got all that I wanted from 60's -90's. Now I get under my truck I would be like a turtle on its back trying to right itself . All I can do to load my kayak in the bed.

No shame in taking our trucks in to the service department. Once I quit taking to heart all these stories I read from faceless posters and there bad dealership stories I have no worries with getting my truck serviced at the dealership.
