Kicking around putting an amber LED bar on my tacoma, but having a 98-2000 first gen there aren't a lot of places to mount one. Only spot I can think of is on the lower valence. Has anyone done this? If so, pics please

Well, you could try mounting it like mine. But mines 01 valance is a bit different. But looking at pics of your style, it might be a close match as far as the gap. I've got a 20" evo prime clone mounted on the plastic tabs. So if the distance between the two tabs is close to 20" you might get it to fit. Here's a pic of mine. I've got more pics if you want better angles. For an idea maybe..
Edit: and this evo prime clone is skinnier than a normal double row. As it's a single row of 10 watt leds.. so a double row bar will not fit for sure. Unless you mount it behind the valance.
Edit again: I saw you want an Amber bar... So this might not work for you. As I can't think of any low profile Amber bars(cheap ones that is) atm. So your best bet is to mount it behind the valance. Maybe use a piece of flat stock and lay it on top of the crash bar supports. And mount the light on top of that. Or under. Not sure how the clearance is without seeing pics. (I'm sure someone will chime in that has done it..)

I was just thinking the same thing. If it exists a 32" x 1 1/2" bar would fit perfectly inside the space once you cut out the separating tab. I have done a minimal amount of searching and haven't come up with anything.
