How does the magnet hold? Any movement over bad roads? I am thinking of duplicating your setup.

I think someone asked him that same question a few pages later. If I recall correctly, he said it was holding strong thus far.

It holds really well. I wouldn’t have any concerns about it. The magnets are very strong.

You won’t be disappointed! My wife liked it so much that I had to get her ram mount for the passenger side as well!

Placed my order as well. Looks like a great phone mount and a way to keep money in the TW family. :D

Ordered a couple weeks ago, installed last weekend, and the holder I liked the most finally came! Overall super impressed with this product! After trying many solutions for a phone mount - this one is by far the best.

The goal here was to be as sleek and minimal as possible. After deciding to not use a wireless charging phone holder I decided to try 10-12 different versions of something that has a 1” ball mount (thanks Amazon). I finally settled on this:

    40482773-703C-476F-A06A-737930B0196D.jpg 79259B28-5B87-49CA-A450-3752ABF65ACF.jpg

Also - if you are looking to use a wireless charger phone holder - I found most of them use a 17mm ball. Akron sells a 1” (25mm) to 17mm ball adapter that allows more options for products that’ll work with the dash mount & ram system.

I'm really liking this product because it's almost invisible. I've looked at other mounting system such as the 3TPAM and the tacoma track mount from tacoma beast. What I like the most from the other mounting system is that they have 2 additional support brackets that mount onto the screws on the radio. I worry that with time, the dash mount will crack and fail if I were ever to use something heavier like a tablet. I would like opinions of people who are currently using this mounting system. Thanks

This is not just a top plate, but a sandwich of the top plate and four bottom plates with eight fasteners along the length not counting those used for the RAM balls. I would be honestly surprised if there is cracking down the road even with a tablet.

All of the molded ribs on the backside are not touched for the mod.

The TPAM is butt ugly in my opinion. The TacomaBeast is less ugly but more limited, plus the TacomaBeast factor these days.

DMM > TPAM > TacomaBeast. Trust me. I did the math.

I've used a tablet on this ever since I came up with the first prototype over a year ago, my original dash piece has more holes than solid plastic on it from all the experimenting I had to do, to this day there are no cracks on it, its still holds two phones and a tablet without an issue.
I used to have an old 9.7" ipad but now I use a mini, its less obtrusive but the DMM held well even with the heavier iPad

ALL new/recent orders have a new feature, the DMM now has two cutouts for those of you who may want to run some charging cables to your accessories. I will have a new video showing the new feature and better/updated install instructions very soon.

Will the cut outs only be on the DMM or will there be one on the DSM as well?

I would use a Dremel, if you look at @moser633 's pictures above you can catch a glimpse of one of those cutouts, its on the forward side of the DMM, its made so that you don't have to put any cables through a hole, they just get clamped in place when you re-install your dash piece. I can't wait to make the video so I can actually show it...

The cutouts are only on the DMM, the DSM doesn't really need them since you already have a lot of open space on the side of it that you can make a cutout in.

What are the thread size for those ball mounts that screw into the plates?
