I tried a generic magnetic mount (not from TacoGarage) and did not care for it much. If I got a better phone case that supports magnetic mounts it may have changed my mind, but I really like the case I have already.

.. I gotta stop being lazy and reroute my cable to come out of DMM, tired of seeing this cable dangling.

 

I’m ready to order one of these kits but unsure of what size ball mount and tablet holder to get for my 11 inch iPad Pro. It’s roughly 9.75” x 7” and I switch up between using it in portrait and landscape modes while driving.

I would recommend a tablet mount for the 11"
I use a mini and I can get away with the phone mount but something larger like the 11" is going to be more stable with the tablet mount.

Here’s some photos of my vent setup. As you can see my vent is completely covered. My phone is always cold af after I drive with the a/c on for a bit . Not sure if that will mess with my phone eventually... we’ll see. Oh, and the rattle on this bad boy... crazy!

I don’t have DMM, yet. But looking to pick one up soon! Feel free to use the images for your compilation if you’d like, not the best, but could work to show how crappy it is haha.

Vent mounts are THE WORST. It blows me away that people use them as a permanent solution. Those vents are not designed to handle any form of weight.

 

I’m excited for you to get a DMM so you can get your vent back ;-)

DMMs ordered around mid June or after are DMM 2.0, the 2.0 designation is due to various incremental changes that I now feel are worthy of 2.0, the latest and maybe most obvious change is that there are no countersunk holes any more. New fasteners will sink flush into the top metal plate after being tightened. I will upload a new video and images soon.
