D82A4942-C23D-43A2-9E00-7485FB818CAA.jpg How to power the DMM for a clean look, and easy access to USB:
    thumbnail_IMG_1835.jpg
    thumbnail_IMG_1836.jpg

First, buy this for $11.99 - Amazon.com: Cllena Car 12V 24V to 5V 3.1A Dual USB Ports Dashboard Mount Charger Blue Light for Toyota (2.1/1.2A-2)
    thumbnail_IMG_1828.jpg
    thumbnail_IMG_1829.jpg

Second, do a little fabrication on the DMM.
    thumbnail_IMG_1827.jpg
    thumbnail_IMG_1830.jpg

Now the support piece. Notes: you will lose the far-right ball mount and keep tolerances SNUG.

Wired into the cigarette lighter and finish the install. No fitment issues at all. I've learned lots from this site and you all. Hope this works for some of you, as a bit of payback.

I bought a standard screw in Ram ball thinking it would work (yes I know— rookie move), our the only options for more balls (too easy) via taco garage? If so, that’s fine just want them tomorrow.

if anyone is on the fence of buying this, don’t be. Took me 20 minutes for install and another 30 or so to run an infinity cable from the center console to the DMM. The thing is rock solid

Pretty cool setup, thanks for sharing. Couple questions: how does it connect to the cigarette lighter? Also, could this connect to the USB port instead of the cigarette lighter to take advantage of Android Auto/Apple CarPlay?

I used a couple of quick splice wire connectors to the cigarette lighter. Someone smarter than me will have to answer the second question.

Does it hold the radio well when off roading?

@tonered Will have to answer that... but with the Ram reputation, I'd assume so.

Yep. It has never moved a bit. I thought about that other radio mount, but the X-grip just works.

Our new Mighty Magnet will absolutely hold the radio even off road the radio just needs a flat surface in the back for the magnetic plate

How would the magnets attach to the back of the radio? I assume I'd have to take the belt clip off to expose the flat spot on the back of the radio, but ideally I would want to keep the belt clip on for when I get out of the truck and take the radio with me. It wouldn't be the end of the world to ditch the belt clip, but would still need to figure out how to attach the magnet to the radio. Is there an adhesive on one side of the magnet?
