Hi All, Just curious if anyone installed a front camera on a stock trd OR grille or is it “pro” only option? Thanks

Yes, I purchased the anytimebackup kit and it came with the nakita camera for the front. There is a mounting bracket that you can purchase from here: to mount to a stock OR grill.

What I did was follow the install video from Trail Grid Pro (https://trailgridpro.com/products/anytime-backup-new-front-camera-kit-20-tacoma/) and drilled a hole in the grill to mount right under the Toyota emblem. I had to use a dremel to grind off some of the mounting points on the back of the grill (as in the video) to allow enough clearance. Hope that helps.

    Oh look, another mod....
You can install the camera on the stock OffRoad grille. My truck came with the camera, and this is what it looks like:

My taco was the first automobile I’ve had with a backup camera. I love it like my smart phone and wonder how I ever lived without it. I think a front camera would be awesome too. I don’t know why the grill would matter, but I’ve never looked into it.

I do now though worry about being too dependent on the camera, especially every time the tailgate is down or the camera is covered in mud/salt/filth.

To clarify, I didn't buy the mounting bracket and instead drilled and mounted the camera directly to the grill plastic under the garnish emblem.
