Thanks for sharing. It’s posts like this that led me to buying a Tacoma. I hope I’m fortunate enough to keep mine for as many miles as everyone who has posted in this thread.

All kinds 3 inch body lift/2 1/2 suspension lift. 31/11 1/2/15 tires All work done by myself for years. The only work performed by mechanic was fuel pumps. I also have a 90 Mustang 350 hp and I can never understand how come my Tacoma gets more respect Just got a 99 Jeep TJ that I rebuilt, and painted in the garage
I was thinking of all of you this morning. Amazing how we have had our trucks as long as we have. I have only had to replace three fuel pumps in over twenty years. As good as the F150 is, it cant compete with us

Thanks! That's what it came with originally so I've kept it like that ever since. With maybe one exception of white outliners...

Dad bought the truck new in 2000, put 65k miles on it but sold it to my grandfather once there were 2 kids in the family. In 2018 I got it from grandma, so now it's a 3 generation truck. People ask me why I will never sell it and I explain to that story. Vehicles like that are too special to get rid of. Cheers to a billion more miles

Hello everyone! New member here. OP’s story is similar to mine, so I chose this thread for my first post. I bought my Tacoma new in April of ‘01, and it was my daily driver until about 4 years ago. It’s been garaged and pampered all of it’s life. Now it just sits in my garage on a battery tender waiting for an occasional outing. I’ll never sell, as I know I would be kicking myself for the rest of my life.

Edit: Photos were taken last December. Odometer photo taken just now.

Mine will hit 20 next year. 181k miles, just basic maintenance thus far. Had her since 2011 with 94k miles or so. No problems.

I had Mustang during my last 2 high school years. (jr/sr years). Had blast with it. A friend of mine had CRX.

Lots of good memories in my CRX, it was my first car as well. They are out there but hard to find and fetch a pretty penny.

I'm right there with you. Purchased my '96 new and have enjoyed 415,000 trouble-free miles. When I purchased my 2018 TRD Sport 4 years ago the salesman asked if I would be trading my '96 and I told him if he traded me even, I'd think about it.

Your truck is so pretty, I’d be afraid to leave her anywhere unattended. Mine is pretty rugged.

Thanks, and you hit it right on the head. When it was my everyday driver, I parked it everywhere, but now I wouldn’t think of doing that. I even pre-think which Home Depot I’m going to based on their parking lot arrangement at the time. Crazy, I know! I now try to fit everything in my ‘02 4Runner that I purchased four years ago. I don’t worry much about that one. Taking the Tacoma is a last resort now.

Mines after 20 years. Can't believe it's been so long already. But it's so weird how it doesn't feel that old still. This thing just keeps on going!
