Hello, I'm new to this forum but not new to Toyota pickups. ( I used to have an 85 SR5 and it was great. I should have never sold it...bought a Jeep (Big mistake!) I am shopping for a used Tacoma, but most affordable decent looking trucks have lots of miles.

I need to be convinced to buy a high mileage truck, so I am looking for comments from Tacoma owners that have MORE than 200,000 miles, (that's two hundred thousand miles!!)

    Thanks, Jay

In the 8 toyota pickups I've owned, not ONCE have I ever put low mileage at the top of the list. I have 196k on mine now, and touch wood, it runs like a champ. Burns no oil, shifts great and is easy to fix if something goes wrong.

be weary...most people that have high mileage tacomas are in no rush to get rid of them... i always fear the treatment the truck had before me...

95 4x4 with 247,500, running strong as ever! Changed the norm stuff, all the belts, reg oil changes, so on. Had to replace a head gasket and head, but that was because my coolant froze and over heated the engine. It ran fine with it like that, just a little rough idle for a few sec at start up for about 2 years. It runs like a freaking champ now!

213,000 miles, is that a modification?
    243,000 on a 95(.5).
I wouldn't be here today (cuz I'm anti web these days, not antiTACOMA), and I'm looking into the first "problem" ever...popping out of 4th and doesn't wanna engage in 3rd.
Other than that, it has never had a problem and has always started...period.
Don't waste your time with the USA trucks or Nissans.
