Heading out on a 10-day road trip tomorrow. Will roll over 200,000 on the way home and never have a second thought or worry about if the truck can make it or not. Solid.

I always forget my beater is that old...

265K and a 4 banger, supercharged happily, rev limiter tamer in its free time

The drivetrain started in this truck...

And was swapped to this truck last year after I rolled the other one :)

What supercharger for your 4 cylinder? Looking for more power for my 2.7 and had pretty much resigned myself to TDI swap

Looking into that. Contacted Autorust.com (Auto Rust Technicians) that invented the Safe T Caps. Their only authorized repair services are 2 in Illinois and 1 in Missouri all close to St. Louis, and 1 close to Chicago. I contacted some collision centers here in Omaha and they won't touch it. I'm trying to contact some welders and will look into body shops too. I even sent an email to the local Metro Tech college's welding school to see if they want to work out an arrangement for a project for the students. Welds will be hidden; don't need to be pretty. I'd pay for some lower than average wages and parts.

I'm afraid Safe-T-Caps are only a band-aid though, to get a few more years out of the truck. Eventually that whole frame on these trucks will disintegrate. I started a new thread for the NHTSA. I encourage anyone with rust issues to make a complaint on it.

I might consider putting the truck up for sale with full disclosure. I would only sell it to someone familiar with the issue who can do their own welding or has the shop to do a frame swap.

Got 178 on mine. Getting no miles for the next 5 months since I can't drive for medical reasons...

But I did just grease my driveshaft for the first time in the truck's lifetime I think:rofl:

Thank Double C I like it too. It's Dip Coat. Starting to peel in a few corners though.
But after this hunting season I'll rhino line the body in OD Green.

I agree SafeTCaps are little more than a bandaid. I plan to build a new frame from just behind the front wheels all the way back.

Since we're talking 200K club, I ran across this article while researching what my next vehicle will be (I confess I'm leaning towards a Ridgeline, but I am keeping my Taco too). What's interesting is I believe the Sequoia borrows from the Tundra and the 4Runner borrows from the Tacoma.
    https://www.iseecars.com/longest-lasting-cars-2018-study
Toyota faired quite well in the study.
