Nice guess, but its a lake off the main road in Yosemite. During the fires last year, tons of the park was filled with smoke, you can see a bit in the left side.

My wife and I were up in the Flathead area a couple of weeks ago. We went to glacier national park a day before it caught on fire right across by lake McDonald. I’m sure you have seen the Facebook video of the father and son trying to drive out of the fire in their rental car. Crazy crazy!

    1995 Tacoma, very basic truck (line vehicle), 5sp, 2.4 W OBD2. 257,000 miles.
Bought in 1998 as a turned in Lease vehicle, paid 6,500 from a Toyota Dealership
in Humble Tx, had 30,000 on speedometer, have driven it for 20 years. Now live in Fla,

But truck is now giving me a headache, its kinda like losing Ign while driving, kinda bumps, real fast, idles great, revs great. only happens under load. 2 weeks Ive worked on the truck. I finally took it to a Toyota dealership, which is the 2nd time I have ever been in a dealership. Well after 1 1/2 hours of troubleshooting, they had no Idea, and they saw the problem. Basically saying we have no idea whats causing it. Go figure

So,in the garage looking and wondering what the heck is happening, Basically have cleaned every connection
I could get my hands on. Happen to look down and said, hell havent unplugged the alt plug yet, why not see
what happening there, I had to fight to get it unplugged, finally got it out, and what did I find, you guessed it corrosion
cleaned it up with some electrical cleaner. I wish I knew where those 3 wires go to, cant find a good diagram. Wish me luck

    jAY,
nO worries MATE. mY four Bangers got 440,000+. I only use Amsoil and go 10k between changes. I came across a guy toeing 4 old tocomas in the middle of no where off IH 10. Said he was from CA and buy high mile tocomas around 600kmiles or more at auction. ($500), then Changes the timing chain and maybe coils/sparks then drives through MX to Guatemala. Sells for 6k each, then flys back
and repeat. Tocoma's are gold down there. I tow with my tocoma. No car wash or spit shine. This is a WK truck man. Had to replace my door handles the other day......on the road 2am and had to hit the head some truck stop, anyway, tried to unlcok the door and dam near broke the key off in the lock.....don't have auto locks on this ride and crank windows. Found parts $12.00 and some Utube guy giving the 411. All done. I would change fuel filter every 100k. If you go with after market alternator make sure the pully is the same size as OEM or the belt might not fit right. Slotted disk brakes are best for replacement. I WNT TO hit 500k then see if a dealer will give me a new one and put the old truck in show room with a big sign......500,000 and still going!!
Hope this helps....my fingers are too fat for my sosns xps laptop so the reply sux.
    good tail winds....john

Guys i went to the local Toyota dealer to get a gasket for my right front hub, my buddy runs the Service department there.
Well he had a Toyota Representative visiting at the time, so we were all talking truck and I told him about my 98 Tacoma having 298+ miles on it and how well it runs and all.
He looked at us and laughed saying we buy them at a million miles tear down the motors and put the parts side by side with new one and you cant tell them difference.
    Dam!!!

Purchased mine new in 1996, was a parts delivery vehicle for my auto parts stores for several years until I sold them. 410,000 trouble-free miles. Have replaced clutch, couple starters, alternator, exhaust and brakes several times. But a GREAT truck. I purchased a new 2108 TRD Sport a few weeks ago and the salesman asked if I was going to trade it in, I told him only if was willing to swap me even.
