Yea I am very impressed with the gas mileage. If it is a 15 gallon I only put 12.5 gallons in it and went 300 miles so divide that and it’s 24mpg. I was getting 11mpg in my lariat f150 5.4l lol

Yeah they get better gas mileage than they claim. I've pulled 23 mpg on one tank in my V6.

I plan on changing the oil and filter with a Toyota filter. The a/c blower motor and fixing the wiring harness for the TSP sensor. I bought a replacement off eBay and will solder and heat shrink it to be a fast easy fix. I think it’s weird how you move the wires and it will cut out sometimes so there is def. a short. I can buy a valve cover gasket for cheap and change that and use some Grey gasket maker on corners to help bond.

My lifted truck with 32" C rated tires still gets 21-22mpg at 70 on the highway. Having a 4 banger is awesome... until you hit a hill lol

Yeah a hill you can def. tell the power difference between a v6 or v8. I was considering a car before I bought this truck but with 24mpg is awesome and I can still pull a trailer and load tools and parts in the back from homedepot. I have a 03 f150 lariat 5.4l v8 250k miles and the power difference is allot it seems. I am gonna have it sold this weekend or next week it only gets 11mpg on a good day.

There's usually 2-3 gallons reserve beyond E on the gas gauge. 12.5 plus 2-3 is around 15 gallon tank for the 5 lug.

I think the most I've ever put on is right at 13 gal.

I've been running synthetic since I bought mine used with 145k on it. It's now at 263k and the last 13k have been turbo'd. Synthetic is not a problem at all. Do some of your own research between the two and learn something rather than taking an old dogs word on everything. The 3rz doesn't have rocker arms BTW. It's a coil on bucket valve train. I think something else was going on in your engine prior to the oil change.

Thank you for letting me know. I drove 300 miles off 12.5 gallons. I was at the E line when I filled up. I wasn’t on the letter E And my gas light never came on. I just wasn’t sure being it was new to me I didn’t won’t to run out of gas. Either way I know I get 24mpg just divide 300 by 12.5.

I have another question for you guys that can answer this. I just got done replacing my 4 prong harness for the TPS sensor. I cut the old one off and spliced them and tied it all together. I then soldered the wires and heat shrinked with color matching the wires. The problem I was having was if you wiggled the harness the truck would want to die. I get done and wiggle harness it’s fine now no big deal. I barely touch the TPS sensor and it’s going all out of wack. The previous owner said he changed it out I took his word. I am now thinking that the throttle position sensor is bad. What do y’all think?

I average about 300 miles per tank too and around 25 mpg so your 24 sounds right!

If I used all 15 gallons it would put me at 360 a tank and 24mpg.

I think I will just change the TPS sensor out a guy on eBay has a Toyota oem one for $15 and free shipping. This should fix my problem I’m having. The work I just did was way harder than taking out 2 screws!

The 2rz and 3rz are very similar engines. The 3rz is basically a stroked 2rz. The valve train is more or less the same.

Just because royal purple is pricey doesn't make it the best. I feel as though it's ended up below average on the tests I've seen. In reality though I don't think most of it makes much of a difference other than the money that comes out of your pocket.

Yeah I could get synthetic oil off Amazon for $16 and a Toyota filter for $5 so the oil change wouldn't be but $21. This is compared to $44 for royal purple oil and $18 for the filter. I just don't want to skimp on maintenance with the truck I want it to last along time.

If you have time look up projectfarm on YouTube he has some good videos comparing different oils.

    Okay good deal.
Yes I will give him a look. I have another question below could you help me with?

I replaced my TPS wiring harness last night I spliced the wires and soldered them in and heat shrunk the wires with the correct colors for future reference looks really good. I thought this would stop my tps symptoms I wiggle the harness and everything is fine. I touch the TPS and it wants to die down once again. I contacted the guy who sold me it and he said he has replaced it times before and issue returns. I was thinking that if they put on a off brand TPS sensor for one would not be quality of OEM. Secondly I'm not sure if he set the correct voltage before installing. The last thing is the throttle body was all gummed up I cleaned it out and I'm more than certain if they didn't clean it before install of the new sensor this would cause the problem over and over again. What do you think?
