Hey guys, long time reader, finally made an account after buying my first Tacoma yesterday. This is the perfect thread for my first post because the truck I bought has (cough, cough) 330,000 miles on it........ yes not a typo. 2002 DCSB, the frame has been replaced, and it has had extensive suspension and engine maintenance. As far as I know, it is the original engine and transmission. This will not be my daily driver, I have a work vehicle, so my goals are to get it as road and trail-worthy as possible in the coming months. I have used TacomaWorld to help push myself to make a truck purchase but also recently to help in purchasing such a high mileage one. This seems like a great community to ask questions and view other builds. Looking forward to it!

I am a first owner of a 2002 Tacoma with over 340,000 miles to date, and so far there’s nothing that ever broke that I couldn’t fix alone.
I would highly recommend getting yourself an FSM (Field Service Manual) for whichever year Tacoma you end up getting.

Suspension, 33s, some armor... Rust, Gray wire and 2Low, and more. T4r is stock.
If you didn't notice, you quoted a post from about 9 years ago. None the less, being the sole owner with 340+k and no major issues is an outstanding example of what these trucks will do if treated right. Any pictures worth sharing?:worthless:

What did you have to do maintenance wise in order to make it that far?

No worries M8. I was going to say welcome to TW but it looks like you've been on here for a few. So I'll say welcome to the conversation.

I haven’t owned them since new. On these trucks it’s not that crazy as long as they are maintained religiously. I saw one the other day that finally died at 612k. With records on the carfax with the oil changed every 3k, like clock work.

I bought my 98 used and it’s over 300k now. I had to do a frame repair(rusted) and recently adjusted the valves, but it looks all original and runs great. 98 2.7 4x4. Auto It’s still a great truck!

Just got back from a 3 state road trip. Passed the 300,000 mile mark during the trip, but missed the turnover. Here's where she stands now. Still running like a champ!

About to hit 275K!! Guess it’s time to replace some bushings?? Maybe a lift? Definitely going to be a fun ride to 300K!
