Sadly not.. no job and I do school from home so most of my miles are beach trips or the occasional errand. Gas being so expensive doesn't help!

On my way to work this morning, 02 Daily driver
Things that i have had to change, numerous brake pads, rotors, spark plugs. One coil pack at about 250K, radiator at about 450k, rear wheel bearings at about 480K

Everything else is still original including the clutch, she still runs better and is still a better truck then my 20 proIMG_7577.jpg

That is awesome! Did you ever replace upper or lower control arm bushings / front wheel bearings? I have 226,000 on my '03 (no lift) and while it rides little stiff I don't think the bushings are shot. Just curious..thanks!

    Salt spray and rock chips.
Hit 222,222 miles as I pulled into the driveway two weeks ago. 2002 TRD Ext Cab V6.

    PXL_20220928_184911464.jpg

Bought it as an immobile rust bucket / pandemic project at 209k. The previous owner had used it to launch boats in salt water in Alaska and apparently didn't know about car washes or underbody treatments, or apparently any routine maintenance beyond oil changes. The clutch was shot, the coolant was a color that no living person has seen before or since, the rear axle had blown seals and was contaminated with salt water, every fastener was rusted solid, and the A/C lines were open to god and everyone. But it was cheap, the motor was strong, and I was bored to death.

Immediate new clutch, ball joints, CVs, rear axle bearings, seals everywhere, timing belt & water pump, brake job, U-joints, steering rack and tie rods, and flushed every fluid. Got it back together just in time for 2020 muzzleloader season and used it to bring home a moose (!!!) on opening day.

Rebuilt the air conditioner, new bumpers, full suspension replacement at 213k. Found a decent junkyard bed at 215k to replace my swisscheesed one. New rear driveshaft at 218k -- but in retrospect I should have just had them weld a new serviceable double cardan onto the original shaft. Drilled the roof for NMO mounts and ran 20A to the back seat for ham somewhere around here, too.

Intake cleanup, lash check, and valve cover gaskets at 221k, no more burning oil smell! New oil cooler gasket and hoses. Fuel filter and plugs, and boy was it time. Sent the rear diff to ECGS while everything else was apart, pinion growl is now a thing of the past. The locker actuator was full of hardened saltwater mud and had corroded to the third member, I had to beat it off/apart with a cold chisel.

Next up is door checks, a custom overhead console, and tracking down this new knock sensor code (it's probably a loose connector).

After all this, she still purrs like a kitten. Passes emissions every time, does everything I need, MPG unchanged from the dealer sticker. I live in the desert and it's the rustiest truck in town, nobody messes with it. I love this piece of shit so much.

Many thanks to @Timmah! and @pistonsandpixiedust for their excellent and timely videos.

My 2003 has 315,000 and still runs good...except for that vibration in the drive line.

Smithlaketaco - I'm impressed with the half-a-million mark. Kudos!
