Just rolled over 265k last night. My first 5k on this truck, bought it in August. I also ran the fuel tank down to and below the E needle, when the low fuel light came on my engine temp gauge that's been dead for years came back to life. When I saw that I thought "nice of you to join us" :)

I am new to this forum, so forgive the intrusion. I have had my Tacoma since 2007. Its a 2004 Desert Sand xtra cab 4x4. I thought I would give some honor before it isn't drivable for me anymore. I am not a mechanic and the truck needs some work. It has been all over the eastern half of the US. It just rolled over 300,000 miles. It has never given me any trouble. I love that truck! Now they say it isn't safe to drive, rusty frame. A couple years ago they said it and I still drove it. But now i can see it. But it still runs like a dream. It has been a good vehicle. Just wanted to tell some people who would understand.

She's at 259 and still ticking! Bought her about 5 Months ago and have been doing endless maintenance to keep her ticking. Next on the list is VC change and all the lovely fun that's involved with that on a 3.4!

Runs good still, although I am getting a slight wine in transmission when put into gear. Might be my torque converter. Anybody get a transmission slight whine in Drive and Reverse?

I have a 98 Prerunner 2.7L with 259K miles. Only vehicle I've ever owned since 16 and I'm 36. I even rolled it 2 years ago. (I'm not proud of that but just saying for a testament to Tacomas) Runs great still. Appearance is a different story but it gets me around just fine as my everyday truck.

I had this whine in the 2003 Prerunner I had. It was the transmission pump going out. Replaced the trans with a low mileage unit from a wrecked Prerunner and never had any issues.

254,000 miles on my '97, 4 cyl, 2WD, single cab.

I bought it in 2000 with 38k on it.

The original fan belt lasted 200k and I'm still on the original clutch.

Finally got to watch it hit the big 200! The truck was completely stock with 115k when I got it in 2011. A few miles and a few changes later... it's still the best truck I've ever owned! Here's to another 200k!

It's definitely feeling it's age these last 10,000 or so miles, but still doing amazing. I bought it at 189,000 in 2015, and am friends with the original and second owners. Known it since it was brand new!

And since it does matter, the engine and tranny have had nothing but routine maintenance. A couple timing belt/water pump jobs, valve cover gaskets. A couple radiators. Still the original clutch. And I tow a trailer.
