I purchased my 2002 Tacoma with 281k miles on it in April 2022. Manual transmission 2.7L engine and currently have 304k and running very strong. Regular maintenance does wonders! Go for the truck you want no matter the miles....it's a Toyota!

Nice! Welcome to Tacomaworld. By the way, faded red is my favorite Tacoma color.

Can I get some help on these wheels please? Came with the truck, center cap is Enkie that I've had to replace a couple times. Are these wheels original to Toyota? Only info I've found is that they belong to the Tundra. Thanks.

Yes, the thread #95 is the same wheels I have with the Enkie center cap I've had to replace that costs way too much. Thanks for the info smithlaketaco and your 02 is exactly as mine....faded paint and all! I had been seeing the stock wheels on other trucks, just wasn't sure since it seems everyone swapped them for a new look. Looking to match your mileage, too.

Thanks, and I noticed the bedliner. Looks good. Someone DIY spray on mine and it's awful. On the list to change and upgrade the body paint.

362K on my 2002 3RZ and it finally had a (what i consider catastrophic failure) major issue.

Burnt valves across 3 cylinders and bad rings in the 4th.

Changed oil every 10K w/ syn lol (Factory interval is 6000, I think)

It still drives fine but I'm considering selling it or buying a JDM 3rz to swap in.

It's a daily driver but now I'm driving my 3rd gen to work. We have a Topo Topper coming in 3 weeks, so I may just buy an engine and fix the 1st gen so all my commuting miles are on that instead.

I've had my Taco since '09 and she's 2k shy of joining the 300k club!

I'm a big fan of sticking with OEM parts and over the last weekend I replaced the following: Fuel filter, Fuel Injectors, Starter, Radiator, Belts, 140a Cadillac Alternator Mod, Big 3 Wire Mod, Outer Door Weatherstrips, Both Front Door Handles, Spark Plugs, Spark Plug Harness, and Instrument Cluster Lights.

Here's to the next 100k

What are you using to find part numbers? Parts.toyota.com doesnt show full diagrams anymore.

Few as possible, I really enjoy stock Tacoma's! Except small things, and maybe someday a supercharger.
230k on my 99 purple beauty!
no real issues so far. standard stuff like sensor replacement, hoses, yada yada.
still runs strong and smooth, and my state recently dropped emissions requirements, so I never have to worry!
only real aftermarket items on it are the rims, put on by previous owner, and unless I get some stock sr5 rims I won't be replacing, I like their style.
