1996 232,000 blown head gasket my fault. positive cable going to the starter burned up at 37,000, but been a great truck. I bought it new in Oct of 95. Nice not having a payment for over ten years.

Just joined the 200,000 mile club today in my 1996 reg cab. The truck is still running like new, and trouble free. I wish all things in life were as durable and reliable as this truck.

I now have 235k and since my last posting I've had to replace the radiator. Word of advice don't run tap water (Only distilled when mixing coolant). The lime and iron and calcium deposits ate up my radiator over the years.

I think that I should start thinking about replacing the timing belt as a precautionary....

311k as of yesterday. Truck is still running great with no issues. I thought I had an oil leak but it was oil that had puddled in the skid plate during the last oil change lol.

I just did that.. but make sure you do fuel mods and if you have a 5 speen no worries till your clutch is gone then upgrade but if you have an auto put a shift kit in it.. transgo #340-HD2 just put it in mine after slipping 1st gear in 4low snow wheeling..

keeping up on my maintenance is one of the most important things that keeps my truck running like the legand toyota built its name on.. full synthetic oil changes every 3 k and full synthetic trans flushes ever 30 K timing belt gets done every 60 with water pump and pully changes every other belt change...
