    Sold my '96 T100 with the 3.4l with 380k miles. Still see it driving around town.

    My current '02 3.4l has 212k. Just put new tires and brake pads on. Will probably need a clutch soon but I'm still on stock internals with a timing belt/water pump done at 100k and 200k. This trucks are outstanding!

    1992 tacoma 4x4 over 339,000 and still going. 1 tail light bulb and starter contacts. castrol GTX every 3500 miles and Toyota filter.

    185 here, no MAJOR issues, just lost of little stuff. 40k miles of this trucks life have been super hard abused miles.

    Wow...makes me feel a lot better. I just bought a 1999 V6 Tacoma 4X4 and it has 197,300 miles on it. Runs really strong. The maintenance report said that all they had to replace was the passenger airbag unit. I hope it last a while :)

    Diff Breather Extension
    252,000+ had to do a right rear axle seal about a month ago, replaced all seals and main bearings when I took it apart and did the diff breather extension as well, that little breather was clogged ta shit, gonna be doing all belts and water pump here soon, and just noticed that my left cv axle outer boot is torn, so boot mod after belts 8) other than that nothin to major so far

    MY98 - 33" BFG ATs, Bilstein 5100 shocks & struts, Firestone rear air-bag kit, Hawk LTS pads, Brembo rotors, 350k+ miles, frame patched together with snot, wood chips and man glitter. MY14 Forester - Who really cares. It runs, has an amazing audio system, but the engine is basically a 2-stroke.
    Just got the title for mine yesterday. I'll be at 295,000 by the end of the week.

    My 89 ext cab V6 had 245,000 on it when I sold it. Buuutttt at 212,000 it got a new power plant. The intake boot between the filter and the plenum dried out and cracked. Sucked up a bunch of dust.

New carpet and new racing seats. ( other half doesnt like them i think). Nwor springs and adjustable coil overs. Sky jacker rear shocks. Slot and drilled rotors. Engine Titanium ceramic coated headers, no cat, jba cat back. URD Rear Sensor Simulator. Leds all around and inside cab and HID H4 hi/lo beams.
    Long as timing belt, water pump has been changed and misc parts like fuel filter stuff like that you should be good to go. Long as it not overly abused you will get many miles out of it.

    My 1997 2.7 just turned 280k. Not sure what has been done to it as I recently got it, but it runs like a champ.

    I was considering whether or not to trade it in my 2002 Taco 4x4 or do some upcoming routine mx and continue on to 300k...So was searching the web for stories of Toyotas (specifically Tacomas) with more than 200k - seems that Im in great company.

    To summarize, regardless of weather extremes its never failed me, whether in the extreme heat of AZ or extreme cold of CO backcountry and other than being a bit slower and not at 'tight' as when new, its in amazing shape.

    While I would love a new Taco, think Im sticking with my 2002 3.4 TRD

    Details (for others reference, hope it helps)
    -----------------------------------------------
    - been pretty good with routine mx including oil changes at ~4,000 or less
    - while a bit late, changed to synthetic oil at ~160k
    - lots of high speed highway miles (long trips)
    - some off road, lots of snow/ice/mag chloride (no true rock crawling)
    - plugs/wires and other wear items replaced at recommended intervals
    - have ALWAYS run high octane (have to now due to 9k above sea level)
    - looks almost like new even with AZ heat/outside parking
    - kept truck and undercarriage clean since new

    Maintenance done
    -----------------------------------------------
    normal brake jobs (several times)
    water pump 'seep' at ~30k (fixed under warranty)
    tires - normal wear (have Bridgestone Blizzaks for winter - amazing tires!)
    cleaned MAF 2x
    replaced o2 sensor
    changed fuel filter 2x
    timing belt/water pump etc at 95k
    struts, rear shocks
    front suspension bushings replaced (to see if it fixed looser 'feel')

    upcoming repair/maintenance plan
    ----------------------------------------------
    timing belt/water pump etc in spring
    rear diff leaking (into left brake drum) - think its the axle seals (only real
    potentially replace rear leaf springs (or drive these into the ground??)
    rear shocks again?
    maybe struts again?

    note:
    I definitely think Toyota has some systemic problems with the Taco that should be addressed, but overall Im extremely happy

    My truck is a 2nd gen rather than a 1st gen, but I now have 263k on it.
