200 is definitely too low. Are you sure your truck odometer is reading correctly? Might try driving a known distance, then comparing to what your truck says.

Also, take some of the claimed mpg's on here lightly. You'll see people claim 22mpg in their 4x4 with lift, 33's, armor, etc... Gas mileage has turned into the new fishing story. Lots of people seem to exaggerate it. That or they all live at the top of a 350 mile hill.

Anyway, like I said. I'd double check your odometer's accuracy. If it's correct, I'd swing by the dealership for a word.

Folks, he is calling the warning light a 'tank'.

The warning light comes on when 17 gallons is consumed. 200/17 = 11.8 mpg. Which is abnormally low. My worse is city driving at 14-15 mpg. My best is highway at 18-20 mpg.

I think he needs to document his mileage and gallon fills better to see true mileage.

The tank holds 21.1 gallons, the E line is at 18 gallons consumed (3 from empty), the low fuel light is at 17 gallons, the 1/4 tank line is at 13 gallons, the 1/2 tank line is at 9 gallons consumed.

I see a fair amount of members with the "fuelly" icon in their posts / signature. Seems Ike a cool way to track from your phone while at the pump. Not to thread jack, but I'm going to start tracking joy miles. Anybody use any other methods?

I'm hesitant to use that "Fuelly" app because the name itself is decidedly ghey, but I am sure I'll get over it eventually.

I pretty much always fill up at around 17 gallons( light comes on) and 220ish miles. My Ultra guage says 13.4 MPG though.

Doesn't the fuely app just go off miles driven and gallons added?

I use trip meter A for tracking miles per fill up. When I fill up I divide the number of gallons required to fill the tank into the reading on trip meter A. As long as the result reads 20 or 21 point something, I'm happy and reset trip meter A. Drive, refill, repeat.

    Seems simple. :notsure:

Had a good reference point today. Last fill up was spent all around town, short trips, stop lights, etc. - 13.6 mpg. Doh! I just had a long freeway circuit over the past few days, and just refilled. It popped to 23.3.

I average around 210 at the half tank mark. Get around 380-400 on a full tank most likely. Never put more than 16 gallons in it at one time.

I was searching for a thread like this the other day....I have a 14 double cab short bed TRD off road. Picked it up 2 weeks ago from the dealer with 87 miles on it and a full tank. Drove from Long island to CT and to and from work on that tank. Went to get gas with a little less than 1/4 left in the tank. I got about 340 miles on that tank. Filled up and started to drive....this tank ill be lucky to get 250 out of it. The truck now has around 600 Miles on it now and I need to get fuel. Am I seeing the same issue here as others have? Tomorrow Ill fill up, I signed up for Fuelly to track what's going on here...the truck is stock and has the BFG tires on it. I don't drive like a lunatic.....just curious if there's anything else to be done.

    Thanks

At the 1/2 tank mark, it takes 9 gallons to fill up (half a tank is actually 10.5 gallons). 210/9=23.3 mpg. That is great.

I am lucky if I can go 150 miles at the half tank mark!

I average 16.8MPG and since I hit around 25k I am getting around 17-18mpg on the highway. With the fuel light on, 17 to 18 gallons is all it will take on fill up
