Leaf springs! The debate on whether or not to keep them has been raging in my head. I always want them to work, but they always come up short in some area. So my last idea before jumping over to a daily driver type 3 link, is the asymmetrical 1st Gen Tundra leaf springs.

Known as Super Stock springs in the old days before my time, the front section of the spring is shorter and stiffer than the longer rear section. This gives the front more control to reduce wrap and twist, while the rear remains softer for ride quality. An additional 1/2 leaf or two can be added to the front for more control, which can be seen on some of the higher end aftermarket offererings.

The question, has anyone messed around with these on a Taco? The Tundra spring dimensions will allow the stock front hanger to stay in place, redrill the center pin on the pad 7/8" rearward, and then move the rear hanger back the required 4 - 5". Cheap, relatively easy, and the roll center stays close to stock.
