Looking for any info on swapping out the steering rack.

In particular the two hydraulic lines coming in the back side. I'm guessing they are 17mm? or 16mm? Had a heckuva time accessing them, managed to slightly round one off. Would it be better to remove the lines from the pump itself?

Any other advice would be awesome?

    Thanks

I used a flare nut wrench when I did mine. Don't remember what size. Those lines are a pain! Good luck

Thanks! Yes they are a pain! I'm hoping I can create enough room for my monkey paws and wrench by loosening the rack bolts and removing the ite's.

ok, I managed to get the high pressure hose loose....but now I'm stumped, the blasted thing is solid (duh on me), so how do you spin the nut out without twisting the hose all to heck!

I can get the other hose off farther up as I had to replace this one winter, simple hose clamp fitting made it easy.

Going to have to take the no 2 shaft off complete from the top. I have it marked and measured and broke free (sliding).

what a PITA! not hard, just monkey handed.

The nut should spin free with out the hoses turning. Maybe you should replace those hoses while you're at it
