oops. old misc comment from a previous topic.

You mention a new truck's tow rating. All 3rd gen V6 Tacoma's have very similar tow ratings. Is your current truck a I4 2.7?

Sounds like a crock of shit, the only tie ins to the vehicle systems for the Aftermarket brake module is the brake circuit input and the dash illumination circuit (+).

T-SB-0026-20 provides dealers with the information required to permanently disable PCS and DRCC on the Tacoma, if you want to go down that route.

With regard to the last part, unfortunately we live in a highly disposable society where planned obsolescence is practically a tradable commodity. I can’t believe cast iron is making a comeback since it’s virtually indestructible if you have double digit brain cells. Lots of people sit around in a car with an idling engine and a stalled mind, purposelessly scrolling on their phones looking for someone else of a similar low frequency to help push their DNA onto an already smothered rock. Awful. But back to this situation..

There’s the joke that an owner’s manual used to teach you how to adjust the valves and now it tells you not to drink the contents of the battery. It’s a roll of the dice if a dealer technician will successfully change your oil or be the reason your engine grenades a mile after you leave. And they’re the ones that get to play with complicated electronics. What could go wrong…? Just one reason I own a 2001 and work on it myself 95% of the time.

OP, disable that Skynet trash if you can. Your safety sense is in your survival instinct.

So cynical, I love it. "An already smothered rock"

Haha perhaps there would be advantages to that! If I could find a low mileage gramma owned 15 or 16 with the same everything but the model yr it would be no contest for me, I much prefer the older engine/transmission. But then again I drive a Gladiator Mojave now ......
