So far, the work I’ve done is change out the wheels to Method 703’s 17”. Added a rear diff armor. Also added a scarab off-road windshield wiper reservoir.

Worked on some more wiring on the rock lights. Got one more side to go. It was badly done. Half ass job on a half assed job needed correction. Smh.

Way behind on updating this build. Over the summer before hitting the Rubicon and Fordyce, did some major upgrades on knuckles, rear disc conversion, and steering. Few pics.

Major pain point was the seized bolts and cone washers. Removing those knuckle studs took hours. Neighbor was out of town and couldn’t borrow his pneumatic hammer that would’ve gotten those seized cone washers out in seconds. Bought a brass hammer and after about 5 whacks on those studs, they’d come out. Next pain point was the steering (thicker tie rods and drag link). The heims on both sides of drag link and one side of the tie rod seized so had to stop by kartek to pick up a new drag link. Adjusted tie rod on just one end. Was doing all nighters to make the trip. Finally, drilling out the pitman arm almost broke me. I blew 2 drills trying to make a 3/4” hole. Had no choice but drill it while attached as 1) my drill press’ chuck grenaded on me and 2) the way the pitman arm was angled made it impossible for a pitman arm puller to get in and pull out and 3) didn’t want to mess around with taking out the steering box. Was so stressed out I broke out in shingles. Overall, upgrading to Trailgear knuckles, 1.5” DOM tie rods, 1.25” chromoly drag link and rear disc conversion was worth it to make the rig as bullet proof as possible.

Forgot to include the nightmare I had to endure on the way back from Fordyce. Driveshaft came off while on highway. Shop that did my gears didn’t stake the nut on the pinion. I was lucky to have a 30 mm socket on me to drive yhe nut back in. Shop owner tried to ignore me multiple times till a yelp post hit them hard. Finally owned up and paid me off. I was lucky that’s all there was to it.

16” coilovers in the front, how that package fit underneath without protruding through the hood? Got any picture of the spring rate, tower, and lower mount? No bind?

here’s a few pics. Don’t know the whole spring rate. Bottom one says 250. I’ve never had any bind. I tried hitting up the original owner on IG to find out more of the build but he deactivated/ignored my message. The previous owner was the one who gave me the specs.

@Ricardo13x recently worked on the hydro assist install. Steering won’t center after a turn. Gotta level/make it parallel to the axle as much as possible. He will address the issue soon.

yes, I’ll get it in a bit. I’m green on all things SA. So while I have you on here, should I run limit straps? I see a lotta guys not running them. I see all sorts of replies on pirate and ih8mud but curious of your thoughts. I’m actually very curious myself on actual size of these coilovers now that you ask. As something I may want to change in the future since I’m a king guy. Wonder if going 2.5” will cause bind.

I definitely recommend limit straps and air bump (best opinion) or at least poly. With 16” CO, my steering bind, that’s why I asked if they’re 16s because you got about 6” of shaft showing at ride height and if there’s any bind. Just measure your shaft to know what travel it has. I’m running 2.5x14 and the tower is almost touching the hood

That’s just sick right there, chauuuuu! Here’s my pics of the upper tower. Again, just green on this stuff so questioning the validity of previous owner. All I know is that it’s a clean title, no rust, engine, transmission, little leak on the t case which I sealed up, and overall good condition. IMG_2657.jpg IMG_2658.jpg IMG_2659.jpg
