I recently purchased a 2000 tacoma 4x4 with a 2.7l inline 4 in it. The truck has a 143,600 miles on it. Here is my question: does this truck have a belt or a chain? If it had a belt I know I would need to change it asap, but can somebody help me out with this?

SHouldn't have to change the chain unless you hear it slapping around.

yea the 4 banger is a chain, it does not need replacing unless something goes terribly wrong..
