    Hi everyone,

I have a first Gen. Tacoma 4 cylinder 5 lug. I recently replaced the brake light twice. Every time I turn on the car the running light works, but as soon as I press the brake the entire left rear lighting assembly goes out. Then when I take my foot off the brake the running light turns back on. I've disconnected the entire taillight harness, cleaned the connectors, and used brand-new bulbs. I haven't pulled out my multimeter yet because I don't know the exact readings I'm supposed to be looking for nor do I have a wiring diagram for the 95-00 models. Can someone please help me diagnose this problem!

    Thank you!

Sounds like you have a bad ground going to the left side, if you have a trailer adapter harness check there first as that is known to cause issues with rear lighting.

Yup I tried that. Thanks for the tip. It was a bad connector.

Found it, not bad ground, bad break light wire on the connector.
