That would mean your transmission is getting hot. :bananadead: When’s the last time you serviced it? Do you have a transmission cooler?

    Everything but the driveshaft. B03A - 410
Haven't noticed anything like that with my 99 model Prerunner. How does the transmission fluid look? Can you put some on a white paper towel for us to see?

I’d start with getting the transmission serviced. It should not be that hot

    4 run, 2 don't
Based on your posts, I take it you're not mechanically-inclined; that's ok because we're here to help.

You've got a dipstick (red handle) that you can pull to check the fluid level and color; I bet it'll come out dark and maybe even lower than normal which means you'll want to drain and fill.

The job is simple really, as you can just undo the drain plug underneath to drain, and get the remainder of the fluid out by turning the truck on for no more than a minute, cycling through the gears, and topping off with new fluid.

Ideally, you should pull the pan after draining and replace the filter/etc.

As for cooling, I bet it's using the stock radiator to flow through. With that being said, check your coolant to make sure you don't have coolant and transmission fluid mixing together; that could happen when the radiator fails internally and the two fluids mix.

Id say its normal for the floor to be slightly warm to the touch around the tunnel/shifter area. You do have the cat near there on the passenger side too. But super hot is a sign that you should atleast change out the tranny fluid.

How about the insulation under the shifter ? is it still there ?
Is your clutch fan working properly ? anything blocking air movement in the front of your truck ?
Your transmission is cooled by your radiator . Got any antifreeze in the rad ?
