I bought a 2000 tacoma v6 from a family friend. They saved all their maintenance paperwork. I just went through it and it seems that it might need a tuneup.
I am going to do the timing belt, water pump, belts, etc. It's 16 years old. But what about plugs, wires, etc. Btw does this thing have a distributor?

What about brakes. It's got the stock size tires and i am not going to lift it. I like having good brakes since i tow and haul dirt bikes a lot.

    What else should i do?

    Thanks

2000 with only 60 k, that's awesome. Congrats on the low mileage truck! I say just drive it, most likely everything you mentioned is in perfect working order depending on the climate that's it's been in. check rubber bushings, belts and hoses for dry rot and cracks but mechanical stuff should be fine.

Change out the plugs and wires along with timing belt and water pump. You might as well change all the fluids too. Just because it's low mileage, doesn't make it not old.

Replace plugs maybe wires because of the age, pcv valve, clean throttle body and maf sensor check air filter that's about it. No distributor. If you want stronger brakes search Tundra brake swap otherwise your stock brakes should be fine with that low of mileage.

I wanna know what you paid for it? Probably not much since it was from a family friend. But if you were to buy that truck with that low of mileage if you could even find one ( they're out there ) you would be paying quite a bit!

I paid 10.5. I was hesitant because it blue books for less. So i took some pics and put it on Craigslist for $13000. I got about 30 calls in one day. So i decided $10500 was a fair price.
I looked at the smog paperwork from the past 3 smogs. They were only driving it 2k a year for the past 6 years.
It's crazy. The owner was a pilot. He kept a log of the gas milage for the first 10 years.

I will check out the tundra brakes. Not sure if i want to get that in depth with brakes. I know that there are not oe brake pads on it now. The old owner gave me a box of parts and there were a few sets of unevenly worn pads. I think that i will check rock auto for some higher end, non ceramic brakes.

I want to put 15 or 16 inch wheels/tires on it, a tow hitch and wiring, stiffen up the rear suspension, a spray on bed liner, and some other stuff that i have forgot about.
