I'm planning to buy a 2000 Tacoma with only 108,000 miles. It is in superb condition.
Considering the low mileage and great condition but old age, what should I expect to repair first? Anything major?
    Thanks.

Welcome to TW. Can you describe the truck more please? 4x4? Auto? I4 or V6?

Absolutely. It is 4x4 with locking diff, V6, manual, new tires, new spark plugs, new timing belt. No strange noises of any kind. Never been driven off-road and barely ever used in 4W. Shifts smoothly.

Most important will be location it lived in. Frame rust thru in cold states that use road salt is the biggest issue.

Wow that's a great find. A good idea would be to change all the fluids. (Oil, Transmission, differentials, ect...) And check all the vacuum hoses for cracks.

If I was to guess what would need attention first, I would say shocks all the way around.

Next would be tie rod ends.

Sounds like a nice truck. Definitely check that frame out. At just over 100k, it's barely broken in.

Thanks so much for the quick responses! My checklist is started.
The truck has been in the plains of northern Colorado for it's whole existence.

As said above, timing belt was done. TYPICALLY water pump is done at the same time, check that out for confirmation.
Also notoriously the lower ball joints could use a look.

Not much, of anything will fail. Depending on how it was treated, maybe the clutch. PM will be the thing you want to get on first.
Edit: little things might go, like ball joints, etc.

If your fuel filter hasn't been changed out yet it's probably time. Good score! ;)

I may have missed it but you said Colorado which to me means snow which implies salt.

    Have the frame checked.

Do all of the preventive maintenance as noted above and change out ALL of the fluids. brake fluid, clutch, rear diff and transfer case, transmission, coolant, power steering.

    Good score man.

Sounds like a clean truck, should get many more years and miles out of her.

One thing to be wary of, if the 4x4 system was 'hardly everused' as you say, be sure it all functions properly and be sure to use it every so often. It's not good to let it sit unused for too long, Toyota recommends 10 miles a month.
