    Hey Toyonators!
I just bought my second toyo a 2001 Tacoma 4x4 not a TRD though. Have been looking for one for such a long time up here in Vancouver Canada.
Not that I will be going off roadin or anything. Just that I love these vehicles.
So what I am requesting here today is that I would like to install an alarm system in the 2001 and I could not find anything factory available to plug and play. I know this year did not come with alarms but it does have power door locks.
Can someone please recommend anything that will work great and at the same time something that can be DIY. I am pretty handy.lol.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The "alarm system" would be the RS3000 or RS3200 (not sure which year they switched, also uses factory key fobs) but you would need the "glass break sensor" and the alarm light (not crucial) to complete the whole thing as if it was installed by factory.

finding them is another story (or even cheap) so aftermarket may be the best option. When I called to ask for factory remote start options I was informed none existed for mine. So I asked the dealer who they send the vehicles to, and went there. good price and 5 years later still no issues.
