It’s about time to start pulling apart this super charger, anyone have good advice on where to start and things to know?
And what to be looking for in terms of damage? If you haven't followed this thread I bought this truck knowing about the super charger needing service, so now I just need to get in there and see how extensive the rebuild will be and how bad the damage is.

    thanks in advance!

If this was for sale in California they'd be asking for $15k. Great find. Congrats.

Also A/C, power windows, diff lockers and cool orange dash lights and clock:D theres also a pretty nice bed liner that has kept the bed in really nice shape. Im so eager to get the SC rebuilt!

How do you know the SC needs a rebuild? High Speed Labs is a good choice: http://www.thehighspeedlab.com/index.html

Run it till it doesn’t work anymore. Rebuilds are pretty pricey. But you can surely afford it with the highway robbery you committed buying that truck for so cheap. Lol!

CE44C19B-AF95-4662-A925-FD36680C8137.jpgThis is a picture from under the hood. Is that sticker normal for the standard ECU? Or is that sticker telling me that there has been an upgraded computer added when the dealership did the SCer?

It’s probably going to be a seventh injector or a air/fuel controller.

That's weird...my truck had a TRD supercharger installed by the dealership many years ago (previous owner) and there's no sticker like that under the hood. Just the CARB stickers for the supercharger and headers.

I have the URD 7th injector kit installed too and it never came with a sticker like that.

My guess is that whichever dealership installed the supercharger put that sticker on to indicate the warranty coverage, but I don't think that was a universal thing

    :smack:

he could damage the supercharger that way, end up costing way more to rebuild if the bearings blow apart or the rotors start to smack one another and damage the housing

TRD has a 7th injector at one point that sucked ass. That may be it.

If you’re ever in the area for any reason pull the ECU out and take a picture of the label on top.

true, wonder if he's got a piggyback for it stashed away somewhere in the truck. I have mine mounted up in the glovebox for the URD 7th, some people mount them behind the panel by the passenger footwell

From the pictures it does not look like it has a 7th. So who knows.

, thats why i had it towed home, despite the people who sold it to me saying "it can drive" ya sure it CAN. But im not going to risk it. Its new to me and my single cab is my DD and the POS Audi is the wifes, for now. There no reason for me to drive it until its all fixed:burnrubber:
