Yeah, I ended up relocated them to the marker light as well. Just used a small hole saw and the cut some notches to hold the bulb in place with a Dremel. Definitely doesn't looks as nice as yours, but it's functional haha.

Where did you get that LED socket? Also did you do anything to fix the fast blink from LEDs?

I got the sockets from Amazon. These were recommended to me by @chrslefty and i know that others have used them too.

to get rid of the hyper blink i bought and installed an LED friendly flasher relay. I bought it at AutoZone again on recommendation from Chris. The install details are on the last page of my build thread.

The 2001 Double Cab will be for sale soon!

I finally broke down and got a new to me truck. Was a little skeptical at first but found a beautiful White 2012 DCSB TRD Offroad with only 5,200 miles!!! You really have to see this truck in person to appreciate how clean it is. The original owner even left the plastic on the steering wheel height adjuster. Looks like it rolled off the showroom floor. I dont think I will be modding this one for a while.

How do you like the RTT on the Cap compared to the RTT on the bedrack? I am currently running my RTT on bed rails, but have been thinking of getting a cap and placing the RTT on that? Do you feel a difference in drag? top heavy? MPG? I originally was thinking of getting a cap, selling my clam shell RTT, and getting a hard top but after seeing yours again, I don't mind just keeping the RTT i have now. Your setup looks really nice.

Its a tradeoff for sure. You do notice the extra drag/slight mpg loss being on the cap. Most noticeable is the higher center of gravity especially offroad. Although it is super nice to have a full bed with the cap for storage to keep everything secure and dry. Also as Im sure you know having the tent down lower blocks your rearview pretty good. I think on this next truck if I decide to build an overland rig out of it I will continue to have both the rack and cap. Each has its place. Cap and RTT are better for everyday/overland use. Bedrack and RTT are better for highway/more technical offroading.

Yea, the center of gravity was the main reason I sold my camper prior to buying my RTT and red rails. But I do miss having the camper to keep my stuff dry and safe. Always paranoid about my fishing supplies, cooler, climbing gear, and bike when i travel. Id figure with the RTT on a cap it would be safer and i can also use an awning. Camped over the weekend and it rained while we were cooking. Having an awning would have been nice at that point.

Yeah it is a very functional setup for camping and will be fine in most offroad situations unless in a low roof clearance (overhead branches, etc) or tippy situation. Another negative of having the cap and RTT is that it wont fit in standard 7ft garage doors. The cab of my truck with the maxtrax, case, etc just barely clears the garage door. Kind of a pain having to give up garage parking over a tent. A small hardshell might clear as long as it was less than like 7 inches tall on the roofrack.

Hardshell was also a thought, but then i would have to sale my RTT and buy a newer tent. I dont park in my garage at home but daily drive my truck and parking structures might be a concern. Pros and Cons i guess.
