Assuming no water was in the oil and didnt get the bearings, the tick will most likely be lifters. As long as it goes away after the oil psi is good and warms up. Its also possible you never noticed it but now that your listening for a problem it has caught your attention. Injectors also make a slight ticking noise.
As long as the oil wasnt milky, you should be fine on the damage part. I'd run it like I stole it! Find the weak point quick!

If it did major damage you will know in just a few miles.....

So there is a hella good deal at 4wheelparts right now (very surprising that they have a good deal I know). Set of Deegan 38 tires and wheels (33x12.50 on a 15x8) shipped for a little under $1000 after the $175 mail in rebate!! Looks like I'll be ordering these tomorrow before the sale ends!!!

Took the truck out for a drive after installing both power steering lines (what a PIA!!) and it runs great! Also used some of the left over rubber material to close off the area in between the K&N intake and passenger headlight. This is how the water got in so easily and this new fix should prevent it from happening as easily until I can afford a snorkel. Threw on the carrier bearing drop as well.

    And...tires and wheels are ordered....

Wish I could have had those tires, but I drive way to much highway to get those to last the amount of miles I need to get out of tires!

I can't wait to try them out I've heard great things! I only put about 10,000 miles a year on my truck so by what I've been reading I should get about 4 years worth of good tread out of them. I'll be happy with that! Who knows by then I may be set up for something a little bigger anyways... :welder::sawzall:

Made a lot of progress on the rig recently but haven't had time to update the forum! Got the wheels and tires put on and found I didn't need wheel spacers. They barely rub at full lock. I do need to trim the front of the rear fender flares...it rubs when fully stuffed but not too bad. Also made a roofrack and mounted a lightbar onto it.

I'm currently looking for a roofrack that will work over the cab. That's where I'll hopefully have a rooftop tent soon :)

Recently made some changes to the roof rack. Added a mounting location for a shovel, trail jack and hatchet so they are out of the bed. And it looks pretty cool IMO

I ordered a rebuilt engine from Kar King out of Ontario, CA. $2450 for the long block shipped and a one year warranty. I'm having a local shop do the install for $1900. Should be back in a couple weeks with everything runny smoothly again...

No knocking or anything! Finished a 2000 mile cross country drive with a 2500lbs trailer just a couple weeks before and it ran great:confused:

It lives! But now the battery light has been flashing on and off...the shop that replaced the motor said the alternator is charging the battery fine and the battery is holding a charge but the sensor that sends the signal for the dash light isnt working. Still not enough to keep me from taking it to stretch its' legs.
