Your truck is so clean! I own a 2nd gen but I bought a prerunner with no rear locker. So I am envious of your TRD off road 4x4.

Thank you! I love the first gen double cabs and having 4x4 is perfect for where I like to take my truck. I will probably be moving to a 2nd or 3rd gen in the next few years. Im looking to build something more 'overland' oriented and move up to 35 inch tires. But this is a while off; for now I'm enjoying this one!

    Definitely would be nice!

I am enjoying what I have for now as well. But the next Tacoma I buy will definitely be a TRD off road in 4x4. Most likely a 3rd gen.

I love the looks of the 3rd gens for sure but I will have to see what the market looks like in about 5 years when I go to buy one. I'm leaning towards a 2012-2015. Definitely want to buy one that is just a couple years old with low miles vs buying brand new. I can buy a lot of aftermarket parts for the money you save buying used haha.

Did some exploring around Mingus Mountain and Smiley Rock the past couple weekends. Smiley Rock was especially tight and I got to put my sidewalls to the test a few times! Also started a headliner patch collection:cool:

Installed a Scosche MAGDM MagicMOUNT Magnetic Dash Mount for my phone and Ipod. Even with my bulky Droid Turbo in an Otterbox hanging on it held very well going down a rocky trail.

Just read through your full thread. What a ride you've had with your taco, huh?! Your taco looks killer! Did you mention in the thread somewhere that you were young? Or in school or something? Either way if you're young, you do nice looking work and doesn't look like you take shortcuts. Keep up the good work, quality work can help you get further in life.

I'm currently in my third year of college and thank you! I definitely enjoy wrenching and appreciate how much time (and money) go into a nice rig. Thanks for reading!

2nd Gens and 35's are overrated. I plan to keep my 2003 double cab TRD 4x4 for a long time.
