As stated above I decided to move the front crossmember. The shackle angle is a little steeper than I’d like. We’ll see how much the leafs settle before I change it. Worst case I get some custom mains made up. This was the first time it was on its own weight. Getting excited!

After cutting the front cross member out I cleaned up the passenger side frame and tacked in the frame plate. Put some primer on it so it doesn’t rust waiting to be finish welded. Holding off on doing the drivers side until I get the steering installed

I think the shackle angle looks good. With some weight it’ll be right around 45 degrees. Looks good.

That’s with weight on it there, hoping the leafs settle a bit

They should. Mine settled a lot. If it still doesn’t could always take a leaf out to make it softer and will help with shackle angle or cut down a leaf to provide less arch but still same thickness.

Been I while since I’ve updated. Had to hustle to get it done before snow falls. Got my steering done here. Used skys off-road frame plates. Had to chop up the fender. Pushed it far enough forward so if I wanted too I could run high steer in the future. Used 1.25x.24 wall dom tubing with trail gear weld in bungs for tie rod and drag link. I have decided I need a flat pitman arm or skys 3/4 drop pitman arm. 6F9CE941-55B9-4B0E-A7A3-56271234644A.jpg

Steering shaft was a bit of a bitch to do but it all worked out. Had to zip tie some brake lines out of the way. Looking into making some different ones.

What I came up with to mount the arb. Obviously ran into an issue with it not being able to slide over the frame rail anymore but I had some steel the same sized laying around. Shortened the arb brackets to keep the crumple zones (to pass inspection if needed). The drilled and welded a nuts on the inside. It’s very secure

After that it was a self alignment to get it on the road until I can get a proper one done! Feels good to have it on the ground.

Took it for a 2wd photo shoot. Waiting on a 23 spline transfer case input shaft to mate it to the trans currently

Little update, lacking pictures. I swapped the 23 spline input into the r1FA t-case. Made a crossmember and found a driveshaft in the back 40 that will somewhat work for the time being. It’s a little short, wobbles bad at high speed but it works until I get one built.

Got some new tires on the rig, 37s. Slight trimming will be needed. Hoping to keep the flares, has anyone trimmed with factory flares before? Would like some insight
