No they are controlled by the body ECU, this is the best I can do for a diagram at the moment as I'm not at my PC.

Here's a better picture of the wiring, I will say it's a Mitchell redrawn diagram so it may not be 100% accurate.
I have an OE diagram for a 2000 model but it appears to be different and an 03 model which appears it could be the same, I included them below as well.
What kind of problem are you having, I may be able to point you to some things to check?

Well the problem I'm having... I was installing a keyless entry system and I shorted something out. The locks work with the key fob now but the buttons in the cab on the armrest do not work. I've swapped out the switch (driver side). I've checked all the fuses and they're all good. I even tried a new door actuator but I cannot get the lock switches in the cab to work. I can only guess it's the body ECU.

I take it neither side work?
How does the keyless entry unit control them?
I asume you checked the 30A Power and 15A Dome fuses?

Yes I checked both of those fuses along with the B-ECU fuse. And you are correct... Neither side works. And I'm a bit confused on the body ECU. The Toyota dealership doesn't seem to offer it or they can't find it. I'm assuming it's the smaller Black box that looks like a relay on back of the cab fuse box??? Am I correct?
I connected the keyless entry trigger to the door harness.

I believe the blue box is the turn/hazzard flasher, on 2nd gens it's integrated into the interior fuse box, I assume 1st gens are the same but I could be wrong.

So it operates the door lock motors directly or tells the Body ECU to operate them?
What are the wire colors your tapped into?

No it is not going through the body ECU I believe I tapped in to a white wire with red stripe or it could be red with a white stripe. LOL and I can't remember the other one right now. I will have to check in the morning. But can anyone give me a positive location on where the body ECU is located? All the diagrams I've seen are very vague!

There's a Red/Yellow wire, I don't see a Red/White or White/Red, if you are controlling it on the Red/Yellow and Black/Blue wires I believe your body ECU is just fine and you have a wiring problem or left something unplugged.

Body ECU is definitely on the interior fuse box, whether it is serviced separately or not I do not know.

Ok Dm93...yes... the wires I connected the keyless triggers to are the red/yellow wire and the blue/black wire and the key fob works fine. When I accidentally grounded the system out I connected the parking light trigger to the green/black wire at the door harness. Which I believe goes to the body ECU and the left master door lock switch. Then I hit the key fob and after that the door lock in the cab would not work. What could I have fried??? Any thoughts??? Like I said I tried swapping the master switch out with no results.

I'll have to sit down and study the diagram but I probably won't have time to do that till tonight, just for kicks have you tried unplugging your remote module and seeing if things work?

If the colors you posted are correct you are tied into the unlock signal wire from the master switch and the unlock signal wire from the door key lock cylinder switch, if you meant to say Black/Blue that is the lock signal wire from the master switch.

The Green/Black wire is the Driver door Lock/Unlock detection switch, I believe it is grounded when the door is unlocked.
While I'm not sure what the reference voltage is on that wire I don't think feeding 12v to it would have hurt anything.

The fact that the remote module you installed from your description is controlling the door locks using the same wires as the switch would leads me to believe the Body ECU is just fine and the problem is in the remote module, I would unplug it and see if things work normally.

I mean if you have it tied into the wires you say you do and it works I can't really see what else it could be unless you acidentally cut/smashed a wire or unplugged something, those 2 wires are the same 2 both door switches controls the locks on.
Also you could try and see if they work from the key switch in the door.

Hey man. Just did a keyless entry on my 97 sr5 and having the same issue as you. Everything works on mine except the lock buttons on both doors. They work great with the keyfob. Only other issue im having too is i was able to lock and unlock both doors with the key on the out side of either doors but now only works on unlocking. When i try locking them with a key i can only lock the door i have the key in. Have you found the issue?
