    Yes he could buy a used supercharger and 7th injection system for 1500 to 2000 or so and look
    for a different truck of course. But 170k is not high mileage for a 3.4 motor and he can hear the supercharger running to know what type condition it is in. Either way he has other options and rust is the biggest down fall to walk away.
    A supercharged truck with 7th injection should be worth an extra 2500 or so in value

    Do a good once over on it and make sure to run a scan for any codes. Seen people take out the check engine bulb on the dash before.
