2001 Tacoma 4x4 identify engine and trans

    Swapped 2.7L 5Sp with 3.4L auto
    Trying to figure out my engine year on 3.4L and auto transmission from a 4 Runner.
    Originally truck was a standard transmission with 2.7L , was told the 3.4 with auto came from a 4 Runner.
    Problem is no speedometer and check engine light on. Tracing down the wires I found a lot of spliced wires behind the glove box. I think I can get the wiring diagrams but just not sure how to figure out the year of the doner engine and transmission.
    Any help or information would be appreciated,
