2001 Tacoma Cruise Control won't turn on.

New guy here. I looked through this forum and found a couple threads with similar issues but not what I am experiencing with my truck.

The Cruise Switch does not activate the light or turn on the cruise control, but when I push the horn, the cruise control light will turn on. But the horn never sounds, with the truck running or turned off.

I have checked the fuses for the cruise control and that's not the issue. Someone fixed a similar issue by replacing the Clock Spring, but their issues were different than mine. Do you have any ideas? Have any of you experienced anything similar?

Sounds like the Horn circuit is grounding through the cruise control circuit

The horn switch grounds through the clock spring.

But if your 100% if can not be the clock spring.

Check the cruise control harness for open circuits . Rodent Chewed wires . Worn switch contacts .
