Exhaust rusted of on bracket coming from catalytic converter. The damage is not on the catalytic converter side.
I want to replace the entire section to the tailpipe with stainless, but I battle to find stainless ready to fit solutions.

Anyone know where I can get a stainless section from the cat flange out to the back ?
I dont want to ever replace that again, and rather use stainless and be done with it.

I will take some photos and post later.

You dont live where I live ... trust me.
Bought this Tacoma in spotless condition with no rust on underside 3 years ago.
It was just two years and they had to replace 4 sections in the chassis as it rusted through the beams and couldnt pass inspection after 2 years from being mint.
Cost me $6000 for the replacement and to completely spray the entire undercarriage.
All my cars get fitted with stainless, else I get muffler work to be done every 8 months or so.
Been there done that, not caught again.

Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
I had that pipe fail in the same spot failed in the Heat Effected zone.

Get a quotes from your local exhaust shops the will do Stainless .

I hope your ready for sticker shock!1 Some of the Mom and Pop shops will bend it and build it cash and carry.

If your into saving the removal and install labor.

3rd car that just rotted away in 2-3 years from mint.
2 MB's and now the Tacoma.

Only my volvo holds up for a strange reason.

I ordered a Stainless exhaust and will install it as soon as I get it. It is on it's way. Maybe I will post a video if anyone might find it helpful, but I doubt it, it is too trivial a job I guess.

The story behind this failure is that my wife was not familiar with the Tacoma. She drove all the way from Pennsylvania to Virginia with ECT on (pressing random buttons to find the lights) , and accidentally also pressed the button on the gear lever to switch off Overdrive. Both together will increase engine RPMS quite a lot. So, basically drove in a low gear at higher revs all the time, which seemingly overheated the heat affected area. A few Months or so later the pipe rusted through. It used to be in really good shape in that section, so all I can think of is the ect/overdive issue during that trip that caused it.
