    Private person. Lurker mostly. Far more knowledge held by far more people than me. I don't feel I have much to share or tell. But I like to learn and I enjoy the occasional interaction with a fellow Tacoma owner.

    I own a 2001 Tacoma I've had since it was brand new and I drove it off the dealer lot in Texas. It is an SR5, V-6, 4X4, with the extended cab. I love it. I wanted a Tacoma since high school (long time ago now...) and finally got one 16 years after graduating. Bad boy wasn't cheap! And they still aren't. But I saved and eventually made it happen. I couldn't be happier with my Taco!

    My Tacoma is 22 years old as I type this and I try to take care of it. I'd love for it to last me my lifetime. Probably not realistic, but there is no other truck I like better. I look at newer vehicles but their styling leaves me cold and I truly mean no offense to anyone when I say that. Aesthetics (what we like/dislike) is a highly individual and subjective thing! I'm sure other people think their truck is the sexiest, best looking thing on the road. More power to them. Like what you own, own what you like.

    If Toyota could build a new truck that mimicked the first generation's appearance, and then slipped a small V-8 in it, THEN (and only then!) would I consider upgrading. Since that is never going to happen, I guess me and my 2001 will continue our long lasting relationship for many more years to come.

    I appreciate you all accepting me into your community. I've learned a lot as a "guest" over the years. I felt it was probably time to actually join so I could participate now and again.
    God Bless America, and I mean that. I love this country. Long may it endure.
    Best wishes to my fellow Tacoma owners. I'll see you on the road.

    @buckhuntin-tacoma
    Thanks. I like the color name for your 2014 ("spruce mica"). Sounds cool. I had to google it just to see what that looked like. It's beautiful!
