so i bought a 2001 tacoma v6 4x4 its starts and idles great. After you step on the gas it sputters and runs like it doesnt have enought fuel or air( idk which) after like 2k rpms. ive replaced 02 sensors, fuel filters and spark plugs so far nothing changed. i have new injectors coming in this week so ill try those out. Any thoughts on what it could be?

Fuel pump possibly. If the previous owner ran it close to empty often that wreaks havoc on the fuel pump over time

Plugs, fuel filter, coils, vacuum leaks... check the easy stuff first. Throttle position sensor? This does sound familiar with the 3.4 V6, and it will not (in all cases) throw a code. If you have a bad TPS, PM me, I have a brand new one from Toyota that may fit, I will sell it for cheap... if that is truly the issue.

well its idleing and running up to 2k rpms so i dont think its a fuel pump issue. check engine light is on. idk whatit is. ill check it tomorrow. i heard someone say something about it being a MAF sensor issue? or a electrical issue

Get that check engine light code scanned, the code is surely related to the issue and will point you in the right direction. Any auto parts store should be able to scan it for free

If it is a MAF or vacuum leak issue it'll probably be a p0171 code

i thought i would do one more thing before going home and i cleaned out the MAF sensor with some air intake cleaner and turns out the was the problem. runs and drives great. ill still check the engine light but like you said it will probably be that error code p0171
