And, some info I got from somewhere on the internet:

Toyota specs the following for 4X4 Tacoma 96-04 with V6 3.4L

Engine: 5W30 API SJ SL (5.7 QTs with filter)
Man Trans: Gear Oil API GL-4 or GL-5 75W90 (2.3 Qts)
Auto Trans: Toyota ATF D-II or Dexron III (2.1 Qts in drain pan)
Trans Case: Gear Oil API GL-4 or GL-5 75W90 (1.1 Qts)
Front Diff: Hypoid Gear Oil 75W90 (1.2 Qts)
Rear Diff: Above 0ºF SAE 90, Below 0ºF SAE 80 or 80W90 (3.1 Qts with locker and 2.6 Qts without)

You can use 75W90 GL-5 gear oil in both differentials and transfer case. Most 75W90 gear oils spec for both GL-4 and GL-5. The four most common synth gear oils on the board are Mobil, Amsoil, Redline and Royal Purple. Each have their own specific product lines. With just 37K miles, I wouldn't bother with any flushes. Just switch to an all synthetic drivetrain.

As for the auto trans, you'll only get about 2QTs of the 7QTs in the system by pulling the drain pan plug. Unless, you're experienced at trans flushing. A T-Tech complete flush/dino fluid change can be done for about $90 at Jiffy Lube, or check if your dealer can do it. That's if you want all the auto trans fluid changed. If not, then you'll be safe just changing the 2QTs in the pan with a synthetic ATF. Most people do.

If you're changing any of these yourself, remember the first rule. Break loose the fill plug FIRST! You'll curse yourself silly if you drain the gear oil and cannot refill it!

Here is the section on fluid specifications from the 2001 Tacoma Owners Manual, for all engine types, 2WD, 4WD, Manual and Auto Trans.

Note that the quantities listed are LITERS, (QUARTS, IMPERIAL QUARTS) in that order. So you want the first number in the parentheses.

At 200+ with unknown fluid change history..

You're in for a ride. The good news is, most educated folks will tell you that a drain and fill will not kill your transmission (if happens to die from a drain and fill, there was an issue beforehand).

That being said. You need to take things in steps. There are some folks/videos which will show you how to use the transmission system/pump itself to cycle the old fluid out, and poor new fluid in. I would HIGHLY suggest a SIMPLE drain and fill. That is, open the drain plug on the transmission pan into a metered catch pan/bucket, and then add that same amount of new fluid back into the dip stick tube. The first time you do this, skip the filter. You have 2 or 3 more drain and fills ahead of you to do that.

Drain and fill you're looking at 4-5qts. Just match whatever you drain/fill. Most folks go for MaxLife ATF. I asked the question recently - should I be concerned about mixing the original fluid with the new syn ATF, and everyone said it was not an issue. And 4 weeks, and 600 miles later, I have not experienced any issues. 400 miles more and I'll do another drain and fill. 1000 miles after that, I'll do another and change out the filter.

Just add some StayLube, Run it till it fails.

I’m 300+ on my 1st gen Tundra, never even checked the Trans fluid.

$hit was designed for lack of maintenance. No fluid will compare to the dark magic that was added from the factory.
