I guess it's really time to sell my '01 Taco; the family has outgrown the XtraCab, and most of them don't drive a manual trans.

The truck is listed on Rochester NY Craigslist and on cars.com (search near zip code 14526) for $9,995. It has been well-maintained and all mechanicals and accessories are in working order (AC, power windows/door locks/mirrors, cruise, AM/FM/Cassette/CD). Frame replaced in 2012, including a lot of new parts. Body is solid despite being in upstate NY. Truck has not been driven in winter since I purchased it in 2009. It has a Toyota OEM bedliner, a soft tri-fold tonneau cover, chrome step rails and BF Goodrich Rugged Terrain 165/70/16's (5K miles).

This would make a great daily driver for anyone who wants to modify their other Taco beyond street legal.

If you're interested, or if you have questions or price suggestions, let me know.

This truck would go for like $15k in Florida

Appreciate the compliment, smmarine. As grrillA pointed out, there are a few rusted items. It's hard to maintain zero rust in the northeast U.S., even if you wash off the road salt every week. Most of the '01 Tacos in upstate NY have serious body rot and badly rusted nuts and bolts underneath. I've seen several with new frames, but missing the door bottoms and half the bumpers. I was lucky to have a company car, which kept this Taco off the road for the winters when I owned it. But, from its first 8 winters there was enough rust on the frame for Toyota to re-frame it. It's still easy to work on; nothing is rusted to the point that you break three things to fix one. Most of the suspension parts were replaced on the re-frame. I posted a craigslist ad with engine photo, and later realized the engine compartment needed some detailing. Some of the bolt heads and zinc plated brackets had surface rust, so I've wire-brushed and painted them. The photo on this site was taken after detailing. I probably should update the craigslist photo.

$10k sounds fair, $15k would be way too high IMO but you never know. I got my '04 earlier this year with 24k miles on the odometer for $17k, and that's in Southern California where the first gen market is very demanding

Good luck with the sale OP, hope she goes to a good home!

These trucks in FL go for $8-10k with 250k miles on them. FL Tacoma prices are ridiculous.

damn, that's worse than out here. But I have seen some crazy asking prices in the private market here as well. Especially when mods have been done, everyone says mods don't add value but tell that to all the people buying and selling privately out here, lol.

Appreciate the feedback on price. I knew there was a demand for 1stGen Tacos in CA, but didn't know what it was like in FL. There's a much smaller group of old Taco fans here, because there aren't as many places to take them off-road.
