2001 WJ Spark plugs

    So the wife needs her spark plugs changed on the WJ. (Or Grand Cherokee for you non jeep peps). The only ones I could find for her model were the platinum bastards made by Boche at $9.50 for two.

    Now I know the Tacoma gets shitty mileage and engine problems running platinum versus the regular Copper/nickle ones.


    Should I dismantle the brakes and attempt this on a downward incline with several hundred pounds of fertilizer and a full flaming jerry can in the back of it?


    Seriously though, should I try to find the copper ones made by champion?

    I should mention she has the 4.7L V8.

    4.10 gears, sliders, and lots of buttons.
    I tried the Platinums in my 4.7, and didnt notice any difference one way or the other. If those are all you got, Go for it.

    Not that I have found. The 4.7 has a different type of ignition syste,. Its electronic, but not near the voltage of the Tacomas, and it uses a "Wasted spark" design. Platinums have no impact on it...

    But they're overkill for this particular application?

    I dont know if "Over kill" is the correct word to describe it....They will work fine.
