Solved—not sure how to update title

Ive scoured Taco world and found similar problems and I think I've narrowed it down but want some advice.

Hot and cold work. A/C mostly works--its cold just not as cold as a normal truck I'll work on that later.

For now-the side vents and floor vents work--Defroster and center vents do not.

When I go to move the vent selector I can hear the servo motor clicking and struggling. I found the servo near the gas pedal and manually shifted it and voila-the center vents worked. I then went to push it further to see if it would make the defroster work and was met with some resistance and I didnt want to force it.

The simplest thing in my mind is to replace the servo with a new one.
    Part # is AX063700-7563
    12V 6D

Im seeing servo motors that look the same that dont have the "AX" and one that says 5D instead of 6D.

I'm guessing the part number without the AX will work--not so certain about the "5D"

Before I go and buy something that doesnt work anyone know if I'm on the right track? Anyway to do this without buying the part? I dont have time this weekend to take it apart and would like at least side vent AC so taking it off and finishing the job later isnt really in my interest.

    Thanks!

Perhaps you could call the manufacturer and ask what the difference is? There should be a phone number on the ad or web page.

eBay unfortunately. I’m preparing for the worst but hoping for the best.

I looked at a parts fiche and can’t seem to find the name or part number for this piece in red. I’ve got a new servo as mine had worn gears but am missing the long plastic arm!! Anyone have an idea what the part number or name is?194262d1502131792-front-heat-problems-se_bed779b604cb2e85f0074aafb1230512b13cb006.jpg

For anyone who is having vent selector issues I figured it out.

Found out the servo had a worn cog so I replaced that and then realized The track that the assembly runs in got worn out and a small groove developed near the “elbow bend”. The servo wasn’t strong enough to get through the groove and with a little sandpaper and steel wool I got the groove flattened out and smooth.
