Need advice.....I have found a 2002 4wd Regular Cab truck for sale. has a few scratches on the body, nothing major. Inside is great and everything works as it should. 5 speed with new clutch. The clock shows 279,000 miles. Original owner truck. Looking at the motor and the power that the truck has, there is no way that is the original motor. The motor is the 4 cyl and is spotless. No dry-rotted hoses, and the freeze-out plugs are SHINEY as new money. The motor is quiet on start-up, and doesn't smoke.I would love to have it, but there are no receipts of any kind, and the elderly gentlemen's son has no clue about anything on the truck. I can get the truck for $4700. What should I do? GOD bless.

Make sure the frame isn't rusted or hasn't been painted to hide rust...rust is the Achille's heel of these trucks.

Does it have air? I found an ‘02 RC 5-speed 4x4 with 104K on a dealer’s lot back in November 2017. Lower miles, but the frame had been replaced and the truck DID NOT have A/C. The dealer was asking $7,500 if I remember correctly...

At less than $5K, I’m wondering if this is a non-A/C truck.

The frame is perfect and the truck has a great AC system. And, if I get it and the motor pops, a reman isn't that expensive. Agree?
