    Hi all,
I'm looking for some advice from audio buffs. I'm by no means an expert in this field, and I'm getting to the point of web info overload.
I've seen a few good threads where experts suggest a good set of equipment, but the problem is that the equipment changes quickly, so the list from a couple years ago isn't much use anymore.
I have a 2002 double cab and want to upgrade the factory audio. I'm not looking to do a showcase upgrade - just something that will sound significantly better and keep the equipment cost around $750-$1000. My new son-in-law has a booming system in his car, so we'll work on the install together. And I frequently use the tacoma for trips w/ passengers in back, so I don't want to optimize for front only.
I've already started communicating w/ Mr. Marv about the subwoofer - thinking about a single shallow 10. So let's assume the sub+enclosure+sub amp is taken care of.
A couple other considerations: I'd like to factor ease of installation into equipment choices. For example, I'd rather speakers that fit easily than slightly better speakers that take hours to install. And if I could get a head unit w/ sufficient power where I wouldn't need a separate speaker amp, that would seem preferable. (Also looking for a HU that works well w/ Android phone, bluetooth, usb, etc.)
So any good suggestions in the $300-600 range for head unit, front and back speakers, (and front tweeters?) and possibly speaker amp?
Suggestions appreciated. Oh I also have a temporary Amazon prime account, with some good deals on equipment and shipping.
    Thanks,
    -Dirk

It would probably help if my original post had more specifics. Let me try again with some more specifics. Again, any advice appreciated. For example, amp needed? Or maybe try it first without and go from there.

Not much help, I had the 6200BT in my 2000 reg cab and liked it. I got a local deal on it so that helped. It worked well with my iPhone, the only thing I despised was the USB up front. I won't ever get another HU without the USB in the back.

Do a search with just the speaker number, folks put up what they've installed. It is overwhelming for sure, same boat I'm in.
