Supra swapped 2JZ with single turbo. R154 gearbox Ford 8.8 rearend Lowered
    Hello Folks,

I have a 2002 Tacoma with a Supra 2JZ motor and gearbox swap. The truck is lowered and I’d love to get some ideas on improving the rear suspension while keeping it lowered.

Lowered with Eibach springs up front with Bilisteins shocks and lowering blocks out back with air shocks. Rearend swapped with a Ford 8.8 but still on leaf springs.

Thats badass. Looks well done too. Did you do the swap yourself?

Thanks. I didn’t do the swap. A friend of mine had the truck for many years. I was lucky to get it. Looking to improve on it now hopefully.

One word: Tubbed. I know its impractical but if I was going to build a 2jz truck it would be 2wd and back-halfed with huge meats. I am old school though, I love the drag strip look. If I could find a 2wd T100 and a truckload of money…anyway. Looking forward to your progress with this beast.
Edit: lots of turbo guys here that are very knowledgeable. I built my setup with help that I found here, and continue to find.

I love the Drag look too but on this truck I think I’ll have to figure out the G-Machine look and suspension to match. Plus they recently closed down our local track (Palm Beach International Raceway) so I’ll be mostly on the streets.

Well, a 4 link would solve your wheel hop issues. And you could do mini tubs. Ok I’m going to stop now. Seriously though, you have a great platform with so much potential. Jealous

Thank you Bud. Someone else this weekend actually told me go 4-link too. Haha.
