I just recently purchased a 18'-6" kenner bay boat. I was told a few months back at a routine maintenance that my rear shocks would need replacing. The truck always seemed to squat with any load since purchasing (used). Now that I am towing a boat , my question is, should I go back with special shocks ? I've been told to get airbags etc. but really am not looking to go over board just do not want my truck to squat so badly. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Is it just bad shocks or do I need extra ?

A lift, some wheels, some tires, some performance, some cosmetic and then audio.
If you tow I would look into air bags or new leaf springs or a combo of both. Shocks are for dampening and absorbing the road it won't help with load hauling.

Shocks do not prevent squat or carry any load. That is the job of the springs, shocks control the motion of said springs though.

AAL, Helper Springs, Airbags or new leaf packs will help with the squat

Thanks for the response. I will look into springs and air bags now , just didn't want to jump into parts that weren't going to fix what I was looking for. Truck pulls great now but I hate the way it squats with even the smallest load on it. Any recommendations on lower priced systems for my issue
